Dr. Peter Stirling has been appointed to the Institute Advisory Board (IAB) for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Genetics (IG). This appointment will begin in September 2018 for a 3 year term.
Dr. Stirling, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics, is also a Scientist at BC Cancer. His work focuses on understanding how stress and genetics contribute to the accumulation of mutations that drive cancer development.
As a member of the IAB, Dr. Stirling will work with scientists and other stakeholders from across the country to advise the IG and develop strategic priorities to improve genetics research in Canada
