Welcome to the Medical Genetics Graduate Program!
The Medical Genetics (MEDG) Graduate Program aims to train the next generation of scientists and leaders in medical genetics and genomics research. Our MSc and PhD programs attract exceptional students from across Canada and around the world, generating a diverse community united by curiosity about the genetic and genomic underpinnings of human disease. Our program and department foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other trainees are valued members of our research community from day one. Our program and faculty are dedicated to providing the support to enable world-class research for our students.
MEDG students pursue their research projects in world-class research facilities across UBC and its affiliated institutes, centres, and research hospitals, directed by expert faculty in many areas of genetic, epigenetic, genomic and bioinformatic methodologies; for detailed information, please consult the research and faculty pages. Researchers in the Department are highly interactive and collaborate with local, national, and international colleagues spanning foundational to clinical research.
