University of British Columbia Trialing Genetic Counseling Within Primary Care

Oct 2024 – Dr. Judy Hall, Professor Emeritus, was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Shriners Hospitals for Children for improving the lives of people with Arthrogryposis. The award was presented to Dr. Hall at the 4th International Symposium on Arthrogryposis in Montreal.

Sept 2024 – Congrats to Carol Cremin, Clinical Assistant Professor, on being awarded a Michael Smith Health Research BC Health Professional-Investigator (HP-I) award. The HP-I Program is designed to develop BC’s research talent and help decrease the gap between health research and its implementation. HP-I Awards support health professionals who are actively involved in patient care to conduct and apply research relevant to health and/or the health system.

March 2024 – Dr. Steven Jones was awarded the BioNet Award for Outstanding Service in Bioinformatics.

Awarded by the Bioinformatics Network (BioNet) community, this award recognizes senior scientists with an exceptional contribution to advancing Bioinformatics research in Canada and training the next generation of bioinformatics professionals. The award is accompanied by a life time registration in the annual BIONET meetings.
