Dr. Millan Patel, Clinical Assistant Professor, was recognized with the Department of Medical Genetics Clinical Teaching Award in 2012 for creating an environment that empowered clinical trainees to utilize biotechnology in improving patient care. Dr. Patel is also a mentor in the Faculty of Medicine Mentor Program and MentorNet. In addition, Dr. Patel is the research director and co-founder of the Rare Disease Foundation; one of its mandates is to manage micro-grants to fund projects that enable residents and fellows across Canada to improve clinical care through research.
