Dr. Michael Hayden inducted into Canadian Medical Hall of Fame

Dr. Michael Hayden, University Killam Professor, Canada Research Chair in Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine, UBC Department of Medical Genetics, has been inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.  This prestigious honour is in recognition of Dr. Hayden’s vast contributions to medicine and the health sciences in Canada and the world that have led to extraordinary improvements in human health. Each year, up to six individuals are recognized for their pioneering contributions. These individuals are role models for Canadians and an inspiration to our youth to pursue careers in the health sciences.

The most cited author in the world of Huntington Disease (HD), Dr. Hayden has profoundly advanced an understanding of the genetic basis for HD and the pathways involved.

The induction ceremony will take place on May 4, 2017 in Quebec City.
