Class of 2022
I’m originally from Vancouver but spent several years living in Montreal where I completed my bachelor’s and master’s in biochemistry. My first real exposure to the field of medical genetics was during my graduate research at the Goodman Cancer Institute, and this experience played a major part in my decision to become a genetic counsellor. Before applying to the genetic counselling program at UBC, I also volunteered at Sunny Hill Children’s Centre as an aquatic physiotherapy assistant, and as a student support volunteer at the McGill Peer Support Centre. The genetic counselling program at UBC has been an amazing experience and has given me the opportunity to see first-hand the variety of roles that genetic counsellors have within the field of medical genetics. The topics I’ve personally find most interesting throughout my training are cancer genetics and metabolic diseases. Outside of school, I love cycling and have enjoyed exploring the many beautiful trails BC has to offer!
